Volunteer host Rev Dave threw a curve ball to KAXE's "Stay Warm" fundraiser on the first day, stating that he "hates it when people say 'stay warm'." His mood went from "active disdain" to "aggressively sarcastic," when he offered to pour gasoline on co-host Doug MacRostie and set it on fire to help KAXE during the fundraiser. It seems as though Jennifer has hired a group of graffiti thugs to deface all the Phoenix , Arizona signs changing them to read Poenix. The Northern Observer is the first to report that DJ the DJ or JD the JD admits to spending some time in the clink.

"I did my time, who didn't" says DJ of his time at Winona State and St. Cloud State.

Northern Observer has revealed that DJ also served some time at the infamous Folsom Prison. "I wrote to Johnny Cash, asking him to come," says DJ, "I was unfortunately released before the concert."

Sources close to both DJ and Johnny Cash say that DJ was the reason Johnny became the man in black. "I told him it was slimming to wear black" says the fashion conscious music programmer.

Northern Observer sources report that Sleeping Bear Press of Ann Arbor, Michigan are suing KAXE Phenology and Talk On the Wild Side hosts Latimer and Hutchins for writing plagiarism. Evidence proves that John and Harry stole chapters from Barnes and Wagner's new book Michigan Trees and claimed to write their own book using the same wording. Heidi Holtan brought in homemade cookies today. Usually known for her baking prowess, these were rock hard.

"I think my butter to sugar ratio was off!" said Holtan.

Callers suggested microwaving the butter may have been the culprit and that placing a loaf of bread in the cookie container will make them soft by morning.

"The damage has been done!" says Houg. "My attorneys have been notified."

The Northern Observer exclusively reports that Saturday night On the River hosts Tom Cobb and Chad Brandt have repeatedly lied about their involvement in a local ring that is selling deer urine underground.

"It's my cologne! I swear" says the cool drink of water and music aficionado Chad Brandt. "My wife Michelle makes me wear it! It's sort of old-spicy... I've never sold it illegally, I swear!"

When asked about his involvement Cobb said, "When I was in the peace corps in Ecuador everyone carried something similar to deer urine. It had medicinal qualities and it fit in the little pocket of my man-purse!" Reporters from the Northern Observer, after the lengthy South American story said, "But Mr. Cobb, what is your involvement in the Rapids Urine ring?"

Charges have been filed by the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota against KAXE's John Bauer for vandalizing the Wizard of Oz mural. "A mural that allows you to put your head in an opening and be one of the Wizard of Oz characters. Apparently John maliciously destroyed the Tin Man opening with one flick of his battering-ram head. Bauer's attorney R.U. Liason stated, "John is sick and tired of hearing these rumors that he doesn't have a very big head. In his own sick way, John had to prove himself." said Contributions are being taken to rebuild the Wizard of Oz mural.

Mainstream media failed to report Tuesday night after the Barack Obama political rally in Hibbing's Memorial Arena that Hillary took a few moments to talk music with KAXE staffer Heidi Holtan. As you can see in the photo, Holtan talked with Hillary behind the curtain.

"I couldn't believe that she had KAXE coming out of her earbuds. I thought it would be her speech or something!!"

Holtan went on to say, "Hillary and I differ on our taste in music. She's more jam-band than I am - like Phish and The Dead. We do both like Slaid Cleaves and The Wailin' Jennys!"

Maggie Montgomery busted for Slim Jims!!

Undercover health inspector Jess E. James stopped by KAXE's studio this morning after carefully monitoring Maggie Montgomery's car for unethical eating habits. Montgomery hosts a Local Foods feature Wednesday mornings on KAXE preaching the values of growing and eating local foods.

A staunch vegetarian, Montgomery was busted at 12:44 Friday afternoon for eating a Slim Jim in her car during a break and littering. "This kind of activity is unacceptable. We need to clean up the streets of this type of activity. Who can you trust anymore," replied Officer James.

Mark Johnson is the Executive Director of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association and a member of KAXE. Last week Mark fulfilled a lifelong dream of shooting a 1,400 pound bull moose in the Boundary Waters area of Northern Minnesota. Conservation Officer Buck Hurd claims it's a hoax! "I closely monitor this section of the forest where Johnson claimed to have shot the moose and no shots have been fired in at least a month! The Negro Baseball League Museum revealed today that KAXE Members Joe & Susan Gnoza of Hibbing, Minnesota made history in 1932 when they broke the color barrier by being the first white people to play for the Homestead Grays. "We are extremely proud and honored for being acknowledged by the Negro league," said Joe Gnoza. The Homestead Grays were considered the most storied franchise formed by Cumberland Posey in 1912. "I remember Mr. Posey talking to me after my high school baseball game after hitting back-to-back grand slam homers. he said the Grays need someone that can hit the dinger and if I was interested in playing," stated Susan Gnoza. Midlife Crisis causes drama at Farmers Market!!!

After turning 50 earlier this year, John Bauer attempted to reclaim his youth by reliving his teenage shoplifting days. Bauer was arrested this morning by police for lifting a pumpkin at a local famers market. Bauer says, “I was just trying to find one big enough to fit over my head…but I forgot my wallet.” Witnesses say Bauer crammed the large squash onto his head and tried to flee the scene, but was thwarted when he blindly ran into a display of beets and turnips – where he was left lying until police arrived.

Very disturbing news today as legendary KAXE Volunteer D.J. the DJ was arrested for stealing CD's from KAXE's music library. Surveillance camera photos (see picture) caught D.J. in the act of stealing a Ray Wylie Hubbard CD. "I just loved that CD! If KAXE didn't have such great music this wouldn't have happened. I want to apologize to my KAXE family for my slip in judgment," replied D.J. the DJ from his jail cell at the Itasca County Courthouse. Click here to help D.J. pay his fine.

KAXE member Glen Campbell arrested!

25+ year KAXE member Glen Campbell was recently arrested in Mission Township, Crow Wing County.

"What's so wrong with making sure everyone listens to KAXE? I AM the lineman of the county! Wichita, Crow Wing.... what's the diff?" said Campbell.

Campbell was arrested after breaking and entering approximately 30 homes. Campbell did not steal any personal property, spending only five minutes in each home.

"I had to tune the dial to 91.7fm KAXE! It took me a little longer because of the fringe issue. Some of the homes were picking up 89.9fm KAXE. Chad Brandt rocks the airwaves!" said Campbell.

Authorities released Campbell on his own recognizance.

Latimer Arrested!

John was arrested yesterday afternoon from his mail route for falsifying Phenology notes for the past 25 years. "In a way, I'm kind of relieved. This is something I've been carrying around for a long time. I'd like to apologize to all those Phenologists out there who I have let down," said Latimer. "I do like watching reality TV that involves nature, that's close enough, isn't it?"

Jimbo Evades Paparazzi

Hordes of bloggers, newspaper reporters and tv reporters stormed the KAXE studios today valiantly trying to get an exclusive interview with KAXE volunteer Jimbo about his past history of cow-tipping. Sources close to Jimbo said, "Leave the man alone! I hold the media responsible for Jimbo's minor accident!"

Allegedly, reporters following Jimbo's truck on Hwy 38 driving speeds of up to 45mph, caused him to swerve near Suomi Hills. Jimbo and his trusty companion Paco suffered no injuries, except slight spillage of coffee/kibble. Luckily his cell phone was affixed to his KAXE dashboard sticky thing and did not fall to the floor.

"For the last TIME, no COMMENT!" said Jimbo.

I love Martin Sexton!" said McCain.

We’re talking about the countless clerks, cops, and sheriff's deputies who handle the impromtu photo shoots with the radio personalities who’ve landed in the pokey. Without the aid of fancy lighting, makeup, and wardrobe, these little works of mug shot art--taken with digital cameras at law enforcement agencies nationwide--are perhaps the most candid photos you’ll see. Today's culprit is KAXE's General manager Maggie Montgomery. Maggie was taken into custody for stealing an award-winning carrot from her neighbor and taking credit for its authenticity.
